"hand" made birds

Last week the kindergarteners made nests inspired by the book Tanglebird by Bernard Lodge. This class they made their own birds to sit in these tangled nests. They utilized their hand coordination by tracing a circle for the bird's body and their hands for the wings. For the legs, they used an accordion fold on orange strips. Next they drew faces onto the birds and glued the wings and legs to the body. Done!
