The first graders used their knowledge of lines to create paper collages. Rather than drawing lines though, they created lines using negative space. They began with rectangular pieces of paper and drew a line from one edge to another. They carefully cut the paper in two and glued the pieces down so that the negative space emphasized the line. One student decided to connect the borders of his collage paper to form one continuous line.
